College

Wed Apr 12, 2006, 7:26 AM
So i got into three ofthe four colleges I applied to. Moravian College, Drexel University, and Ringling School of Art and Design. Pretty happy about that, and it now looks like I'll be spending the next four years of my life at Ringling School down in Sarasota, Florida. It's a bit of a move from New York, but I'm Australian, so it's not that big of a deal to start living in a fucking warm climate. So I'm really excited about the prospects of that. Besides that I now have to buy a car, which I've been advised to do by all the students I met at Ringling. And along with a car, I'm taking a trip to China in August with my history/ foreign policy teacher from high school. It's not exactly a class trip in that anyone who's had him is welcome to come, but it is all students of his. So my friend and I are gonna do that as sort of a last trip together before we leave for college. I think he's going to Boston University, while I'm going to Ringling, so it's a bit of a distance. On the other hand, finally picked up a few cds I've been meaning to get for ages, The Felix Culpa - Commitment ; Lines into Phoenix - Aries ; and The Kinison - What are you Listening to?. So I've been listening to those along with other stuff I've had for awhile, including the sound of animals fighting, emery, foo fighters, the futureheads, and the blood brothers. It also happens to be spring break for me right now, so I'm sitting in my room in boxers typing this and finishing up a few Writing Communications assignments so I have them in for the end-of-semester grades. bleh.

Finally

Sun Feb 26, 2006, 11:51 PM
finally finished my portfolio for the last half of the colleges im applying to. bloody thing took me a hell of a lot longer than i thought. i suppose all anyone here who cares at all just cares about me submitting stuff. well suck on a cock and peek at the gallery, i added some digital pieces that have been hanging around on my comp for far too long unsubmitted, and a couple non-digital things ive done more recently. i would submit my self portrait, except i forgot about it as i was submitting things, and i dont want the first thing people to see when they visit my page to be my darkly handsome face and greek god body. i want to be taken seriously for my art, not just as a gorgeous specimen of the human race. im serious about not wanting it to be the latest deviation though, so until i have something else to upload, thats gonna wait. been talking to JJ lately, and hes trying to get me to do more things, so we have a little deal going. we took an idea of mine, and we are both going to make pieces based on it, although JJ has to do his first to get me to do mine. so go egg him on and maybe ill get around to it myself.

now, just bought a few dvds the other day, the pianist, taxi driver, and mystic river. i havent seen any of them yet except for the pianist, which i watched the day i got the movies. great film. its roman polanski though, so if you dont like blood and human brutality, dont see the movie.

free trial subscription

Fri Jun 3, 2005, 4:41 PM
w0ot! got a free subscription for the next week.

Mood: Bouncy somewhat amused
Listening to: BYOB - System of Down
Watching: The Thin Red Line

so yeah, i now have a little asterisk next to my name. this is because, as previously stated, i have a subscription for the next several days. that is most excellent. in other news, laura liked her present, and she can now have it as a background for her phone if she so desires thanks to deviantMobile. although i am missing her sweet sixteen party tomorrow. its at hooter's. thats how awesome this girl is. i dont update this much. but i felt obligated since i just got this subscription, and since i seemingly rarely submit pieces anymore. this is not necessarily due to lack of inspiration, but more lack of initiative. just havent felt like starting pieces, even though, if i get into one, ill work on it and enjoy working on it like normal. ah well. im gonna take some portfolio classes this summer, along with some other digital art ones. a family friend has offered to teach me how to paint and draw, as well as stuff he does with photoshop. the man is incredible. as a younger man, he was mugged by a guy, who stabbed him in the back, which paralyzed him. and yet AFTER that, he has been married, and now lives with his wife and chocolate labrador. hes a painter and digital artist, and teaches art at a university nearby. so yeah, excited about the potential in that. schoolwise, i have about 2 weeks left before finals. and then summer, and SENIOR YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL. reasonably stoked about that. so yeah. if u read this far...youve got to be really bored. im gonna go back to my movie now. later.

Road test

Fri Mar 25, 2005, 8:20 AM
just took my road test today and passed, so now i can legally drive alone. so happy.
other than that, added two new pieces in the past few days, which is rare because i havent been making much lately.
